Yvonne and Christine Lerolle at the Piano, by Pierre-Auguste Renoir shows Yvonne, dressed in white, seated at the keyboard, absorbed in the music, while her sister Christine, in a red dress, leans over the armchair to follow along with the score. Renoir, the French Impressionist painter (1841-1919) known for his warm, luminous scenes of Parisian domestic life, painted the two sisters in the Paris apartment of his close friend Henry Lerolle, capturing their quiet companionship with the loose, richly worked brushwork of his later years.

Artist: Pierre-Auguste Renoir (French, 1841-1919). Date: c. 1897.

Yvonne and Christine Lerolle at the Piano. Impressionist Oil Painting Reproduction Canvas Print.
