Green Wheat Fields, Auvers (Champs de blé vert, Auvers), c. 1890 by Vincent van Gogh – Soft Lavender Edition
Green Wheat Fields, Auvers, painted by Vincent van Gogh in 1890, depicts a close, sweeping view of young green wheat rippling across the Auvers plain beneath a vast, wind-swept sky of swirling clouds. Painted during his final months at Auvers-sur-Oise, Van Gogh used dense, curling brushstrokes to convey both the vitality of the growing crop and the restless energy of the weather above; the canvas is now held in the National Gallery of Art, Washington. The work reflects the artist's late Post-Impressionist vision, in which an ordinary rural subject becomes a vehicle for intense feeling.
Artist: Vincent van Gogh (Dutch, 1853-1890). Date: c. 1890.
Green Wheat Fields, Auvers (Champs de blé vert, Auvers), c. 1890 by Vincent van Gogh. Post-Impressionist Landscape Wall Art Canvas Print.
A note on this reproduction: this print renders in a soft, pale sky with gentle lavender-blue clouds, a warmer and more muted treatment than other color-graded reproductions of this same painting in our collection.
