The Poet's Garden, 1888 – Vincent van Gogh Wall Art | Post-Impressionist Garden Canvas Print

Painted in September 1888 in Arles, Vincent van Gogh's The Poet's Garden captures the public garden near his Yellow House in a blaze of autumnal colour, the trees and pathways rendered with the swirling, luminous brushwork of his most creatively exuberant period. Van Gogh planned the work as part of a series of paintings intended to decorate the Yellow House in anticipation of Paul Gauguin's arrival, associating the garden with the great poets of his imagination — Dante, Petrarch, and Boccaccio. The painting is among the most warmly lyrical and decoratively beautiful of his Arles works, suffused with a particular light and atmosphere that speaks of Van Gogh at his most joyful. A radiantly beautiful and deeply literary work for any interior that celebrates the finest of Post-Impressionism.
