Plain at Auvers, 1890 – Vincent van Gogh Wall Art | Post-Impressionist Landscape Canvas Print

Painted in June or July 1890 during his final weeks at Auvers-sur-Oise, Vincent van Gogh's Plain at Auvers presents the vast, open wheat fields stretching to the horizon under a dramatic sky of swirling blues and whites, rendered in the intensely expressive brushwork and vivid colour contrasts of his most creatively urgent late period. The painting belongs to a remarkable group of wide-format Auvers landscapes in which Van Gogh captured the panoramic breadth of the Île-de-France plain with an almost symphonic expansiveness of vision and emotional intensity. Now held in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, it is one of the most powerful of all his late landscapes. A grandly conceived and deeply moving work for any interior drawn to the heights of Post-Impressionism.
