Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter whose intensely expressive color and brushwork made him one of the most influential figures in Western art, and this orchard scene belongs to a celebrated series of blossoming-orchard paintings from his first spring in Arles.
