Large Nude (also known as Nude on Cushions), painted by Pierre-Auguste Renoir circa 1907, is presented here as a fine art canvas reproduction within its original academic nude tradition. A reclining figure rests against a gold-patterned cushion and a fur throw, rendered in the warm, glowing flesh tones that define Renoir's mature style. One of three large Titianesque reclining nudes Renoir painted in this period, the canvas — now held by the Musée d'Orsay — was not exhibited until 1913, after which critics quickly recognized it as a major work of his later career, reflecting his lifelong devotion to the female nude within the classical tradition of Titian and the Old Masters.
