Keelmen Heaving in Coals by Moonlight, by J. M. W. Painted by Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775–1851), the celebrated English Romantic painter renowned above all for his mastery of light, the work turns an ordinary industrial task into a study of moonlight, mist, and reflection.
