Haystacks in Provence, 1888 – Vincent van Gogh Wall Art | Post-Impressionist Provençal Harvest Canvas Print
Choose options
Painted in June 1888 during Van Gogh's most productive summer at Arles, Haystacks in Provence captures the golden harvest piled in tall ricks beneath the southern sun. The composition glows with warm yellows, deep ochres, and the sky's clear Provençal blue, applied in the rapid, vibrating brushwork of his Arles breakthrough. Van Gogh saw the harvest as the great seasonal subject of rural life and painted the surrounding fields repeatedly that summer. The work is held by the Kröller-Müller Museum and stands as a luminous tribute to the dignity of agricultural labor.
