Choose options
Corn Harvest in Provence, painted by Vincent van Gogh in 1888, depicts the sun-baked wheat fields near Arles at the height of the June harvest, with sheaves of cut grain bundled across the golden plain beneath a deep blue Provençal sky. A lone harvester works the field as distant farmhouses anchor the horizon, the whole scene rendered in thick, rhythmic strokes of ochre and gold. Painted during Van Gogh’s prolific Arles period, the work reflects his admiration for Jean-François Millet and his lifelong fascination with the agricultural cycle.
