Wall Street East from Nassau Street, New York City, 1911, by Irving Underhill looks east down Wall Street from the steps of Federal Hall, past the statue of George Washington, toward the offices of J.P. Morgan & Co. at 23 Wall Street, with horse-drawn carriages, early automobiles, and bowler-hatted pedestrians crowding the Financial District. Irving Underhill was one of New York's foremost commercial photographers of the early twentieth century, renowned for his sweeping architectural views of the city's skyscrapers and streetscapes.
