Haystacks, End of Summer, painted by Claude Monet in 1891 depicts two golden grainstacks glowing in late-afternoon sun against a field of warm greens and a soft violet ridge of hills. One of the most reproduced works from Monet’s Giverny series, it captures the last full light of summer just before the stacks were painted again and again through the changing seasons.
