Figures on the Beach, painted by Pierre-Auguste Renoir in 1890 depicts two fashionably dressed women and a young boy at the water's edge, probably on the Normandy coast, with sailboats drifting on the blue-green sea behind them and a small white dog at their feet. By 1890 Renoir had moved away from his earlier, more broadly Impressionist handling toward a warmer, more solidly modeled treatment of the figure, and this beach scene shows his mature gift for combining outdoor light with a classical sense of form. The painting is now held in the Robert Lehman Collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Figures on the Beach, 1890 by Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Impressionist Seaside Wall Art Canvas Print.
A note on this reproduction: this print renders in brighter, more saturated tones, with a richer turquoise-blue sea and warmer, sunlit golden sand. Cooler, more muted reproductions of this same painting are also available in our collection.
