Bathers, painted by Pierre-Auguste Renoir around 1918-1919, is presented here as a fine art canvas reproduction within its original academic nude tradition. Two figures are shown at the edge of a stream, one crouching to wash another bather's hair while a second stands drying herself in the shallow water, set against the sun-dappled greenery of the artist's garden at Les Collettes in Cagnes-sur-Mer. Painted in the last years of Renoir's life, the work belongs to a series of intimate bather studies in the classical tradition, in which the human figure merges with the warm, glowing color of the surrounding landscape.
