Aux Petites Dalles, 1884 – Claude Monet Wall Art | Impressionist Normandy Coastal Canvas Print
Choose options
Painted in 1884, Claude Monet's Aux Petites Dalles captures the small Normandy fishing village of Les Petites-Dalles on the English Channel coast, where Monet worked during a number of his summer painting expeditions to the region. The chalk cliffs, pebbled beach, and changing northern light of the Norman coast offered Monet a more austere and chromatically restrained counterpart to his Mediterranean subjects. Painted in the warmly observed broken brushwork of his mature Impressionist style, the work captures the elemental quality of the Norman seaside. A magnificently atmospheric and historically significant work for any interior drawn to the finest of French Impressionism.
